View Organizational Hierarchy
Select the “View Organizational Hierarchy” activity under the “Employment Information” business component.
The “View Organizational Hierarchy” page appears.
Enter the following details in the header.
Employment Unit |
From the drop-down list box, select the required employment unit. The system lists in the drop-down list box, the interacting employment units. By default, the system displays the login employment unit. |
Show Hierarchy By |
From the drop-down list box, select the required option. The system displays “Department”, “Employee”, “Project” and “Work Location” as options. Note: The search is fired with the “Show Hierarchy By” combo set to blank value. In other words search is fired displaying the org. chart for the entire OU. |
Department |
From the drop-down list box, select the department for which you want to view the organization hierarchy starting from the department head. This option is to let the user view the reporting hierarchy within a department beginning with the Department Head. Note: This field is visible only if the “Show Hierarchy By” is selected as “Department”. |
Employee Code |
The code that identifies the employee by which you want to view the organization hierarchy details. On Enter, the system displays the name of the employee. This option is to let the user view the reporting hierarchy beginning with the specified employee. Help Facility Available Note: This field is visible only if the “Show Hierarchy By” is selected as “Employee”. |
Client |
From the drop-down list box, select the name of the client / customer The system lists the customer names as options. Note: This field is visible only if the “Show Hierarchy By” is selected as “Project”. |
Project |
From the drop-down list box, select the name of the project for which you want to view the organization hierarchy details. The system lists the projects based on the selected client. This option is to let user view the reporting hierarchy based on Projects. Note: This field is visible only if the “Show Hierarchy By” is selected as “Project”. |
Work Location |
From the drop-down list box, select the name of the work location for which you want to view the organization hierarchy details. Note: This field is visible only if the “Show Hierarchy By” is selected as “Work Location”. |
Level |
From the drop-down list box, select the level of hierarchy by which you want to view the organization hierarchy details. By default, the system lists the option as 2. |
Click “View Hierarchy” to view the hierarchy details.
The system displays the organizational hierarchy details in the left side of the page.
To view Department Hierarchy
If the “Show Hierarchy By” option is selected as “Department”, then the system displays the Department Head employee corresponding to the chosen department at the top node. If the default level is set as 2, then the system displays the subordinates of the Department Head at the next level and subordinates reportee’s as the 2nd level in the hierarchy. Reporting relationship is based on primary assignment, employee - supervisor information effective as on the current date.
To view Employee Hierarchy
If the “Show Hierarchy By” option is selected as “Employee”, then the system displays the employee at the top followed by employee's subordinates and subordinates reportee’s record based on reporting relationship defined in primary assignment if level is the default level (level 2).
To view Project Hierarchy
If the “Show Hierarchy By” option is selected as “Project” and a project exists for the selected client, then the system displays the project manager corresponding to the project at the top followed by the subordinates of the project manager identified through the employee assignment details in Timesheet Billing component where the work wise supervisor is the project manager.
To view Work Location Hierarchy
If the “Show Hierarchy By” option is selected as “Work Location”, then the system displays the Work Location Head corresponding to the chosen work location at the top node. If the default level is set as 2, then the system displays the work location head subordinates as the first level and subordinates reportees as the 2nd level in the hierarchy.
In the top of the right hand side, the system displays the photo of the selected employee, position title as on date, department name, designation and work location of the employee.
Click the tag image to view the tags available in View Summary of Personal information corresponding to the selected employee.
Click “View Full Profile” to view the full profile details of the login employee.
Note: Fields in the tabs are visible based on the configuration parameter set for login user in “Maintain Hierarchy Chart Configuration Parameters” activity of “Organization Hierarchy” component.
Tab-Summary
The system displays the following.
Reports To |
The name and code of the reporting manager. |
The system displays the following in the “Contact Details – (Official)” section.
Address |
The official contact address of the employee. |
Phone No. (Official) |
The official phone number of the employee. |
Phone No. (Personal) |
The personal phone number of the employee. |
Mobile No. (Official) |
The official mobile number of the employee. |
The system displays the following in the “Work Experience (in years)” section.
In the Position |
The number of years the employee worked in the current position. |
In the Organization |
The number of years the employee worked in the organization. |
External Experience |
The number of years the employee worked in other organizations. |
Overall |
The overall internal and external experience of the employee in years. |
The system displays the following in the “Talent & Profile Assessment” section.
Flight Risk |
Indicates whether the employee is a high or medium or low flight employee |
Last Performance Score |
The latest performance appraisal score of the employee. |
Potential Rating |
The potential rating of the employee. |
Talent Pool |
The talent pool for which the employee is part of. Click the datahyperlink to view the list of employees in the talent pool. |
Tab-Assignment
The system displays the following in the “Current Assignment” section.
Employee Type |
The type of employee. |
Employment Unit |
The employment unit to which the employee belongs. |
Business Unit |
The business unit to which the employee belongs. |
Cost Center |
The description of the cost center to which the employee belongs. |
Job |
The job title of the employee. |
Job Family |
The job family to which the employee’s job belongs. |
Job Level |
The job level of the employee’s job. |
Grade Set |
The name of the grade set to which the employee belongs. |
Grade |
The name of the grade to which the employee belongs. |
Salaried/Hourly |
Indicates whether the employee is salaried or hourly compensation. |
FLSA Exempt |
Indicates whether the FLSA is exempted or not. |
Full Time/Part Time |
Indicates whether the employee is a full time or part time employee. |
FTE |
Full Time Equivalent of the employee. It may be 1 or 0.5 or otherwise based on the work load of the employee |
Compensation () |
The compensation package of the employee in the company’s base currency along with the company’s base currency |
Career Path |
Click the “Employee Career Path” Datahyperlink to view the employee career path details. |
Tab-Projects
The system displays the following in the “Current Project” section.
Project |
The name of the current project. |
Project Manager |
The name of the project manager identified for the current project. |
Location |
The name of the location where the employee is executing the project |
Onsite/Offshore |
Indicates whether the nature of the employee’s engagement in the project is at onsite or offshore. |
Project Period |
The period of the current project. |
Allocation Percentage |
The percentage allocation / involvement of the employee in the current project. |
Billable |
Indicates whether the project is billable or not. |
Resource Status |
The resource status of the employee in the project For instance as Billed, Reserved, Non billed resource etc., |

The system displays the following in the “Links” section. This section is to let the HR or a supervisor to perform employee related actions in a hierarchy chart
